I'm Covered by the Blood!
Leviticus 4:14-18 NLT
14 When they become aware of their sin, the people must bring a young bull as
an offering for their sin and present it before the Tabernacle. 15 The elders of
the community must then lay their hands on the bull's head and slaughter it
before the LORD. 16 The high priest will then take some of the bull's blood into
the Tabernacle, 17 dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times
before the LORD in front of the inner curtain. 18 He will then put some of the
blood on the horns of the altar for fragrant incense that stands in the LORD's
presence inside the Tabernacle. He will pour out the rest of the blood at the
base of the altar for burnt offerings at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
Leviticus 17:11 NLT
11 for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar
to purify you, making you right with the LORD. It is the blood, given in
exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.
Exodus 26:33-34 AMP
33 "You shall hang the veil from the hooks [that connect the curtains together],
and you shall bring the ark of the Testimony there within the veil. The veil shall
separate for you the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. 34 "You shall put the
mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Holy of Holies. ..."
1. Power is in the Blood
Leviticus 17:11 NLT
for the life of the body is in its blood.
2. Entering the Gates
God was creating order and presenting to them what is to come.
Matthew 27:50-51 ESV
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. 51 And
behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the
earth shook, and the rocks were split.
a. This was our new destiny being revealed when Christ died.
b. He was now the sacrificial lamb.
Hebrews 9:11-14 ESV
11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have
come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands,
that is, not of this creation) 12 he entered once for all into the holy places, not
by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus
securing an eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the
sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the
purification of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who
through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify
our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
We are no longer bound/slaves to our sins.
The enemies’ job is to bring division to the church and the scriptures.
1 John 1:7-9 NLT
7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship
with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we
claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
He is just and faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all our sins.
Hebrews 4:14-16 NLT
14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus
the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of
ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all the same testing’s we do, yet
he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.
There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we
need it most.
Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us.
Revelation 12:10-11 NLT
10 Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, "It has come at last—
salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his
Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to
earth—the one who accuses them before our God Day and night. 11 And they
have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they
did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die. ..."
The Blood of Jesus has covered us.
