Matthew 14:24-31 NLT “Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land,
for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About 3 o’clock in the morning,
Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the
water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”. But Jesus spoke to them at
once. “Don’t be afraid,” He said. “Take courage. I am here.” Then Peter called to Him, “Lord, if
it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter
went over to the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the
strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did
you doubt me?”
I.) The Miracle
Matthew 14:18-20 NLT “Bring them here,” he said. Then he told the people to sit down
on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and
blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples,
who distributed it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the
disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers.”
When you give Jesus your everything, He won’t just bless it. He’ll bless you too.
When we’re trusted with abundance, our response should be generous stewardship.
2Corinthians 9:8 NLT “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will
always have everything you need, and plenty left over to share with others.”
Proverbs 11:25- “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves
be refreshed.”
II.) The Test
Enantíos – against, opposite, hostile, resisting
The presence of the storm does not mean the absence of Jesus.
Mark 6:48 NLT – “He saw that they were in serious trouble, rowing hard and struggling
against the wind and waves.”
Sometimes Jesus isn’t telling your storm to be silent. He’s asking your faith to be louder.
Tharsete – have confidence despite the circumstances
III.) Get Out Of Your Boat
It’s time to put your faith on do not disturb!
When your focus is on Jesus, you have the power to walk on what other people drown
in!
Romans 8:38-39 NLT “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from
God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today
or our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s
love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation
will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our
Lord.”
Romans 10:13 NLT “For everyone who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
