< Back Heroes of the Faith Pt. 1: Settled Pastor Nate Brosher Aug 3, 2025 Genesis 12:1-4 NLT - 1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you." 4 So Abram departed as the LORD had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran. 1. Are we settling? Terah had settled in Haran. Haran – Mountain/place of transition. Abram & Sarai had to stay in the land of transition for 205 years before God said, “Leave”. Don’t despise the days of transition! 2. HE is our Strength! Genesis 13:14-18 NLT - 14 After Lot had gone, the LORD said to Abram, "Look as far as you can see in every direction--north and south, east and west. 15 I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. 16 And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted! 17 Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you." 18 So Abram moved his camp to Hebron and settled near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. There he built another altar to the LORD. Mamre – Strength & Fatness. Genesis 15:1-6 NLT - 1 Some time later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, "Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great." 2 But Abram replied, "O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don't even have a son? Since you've given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. 3 You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir." 4 Then the LORD said to him, "No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir." 5 Then the LORD took Abram outside and said to him, "Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That's how many descendants you will have!" 6 And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith. 3. We Must Believe! We must adhere to His commands. Psalm 34:17-20 NLT - 17 The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. 19 The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. 20 For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken! Not a promise of Immunity. The Righteous may still face challenges. Previous Next
- The Romans Journey Pt. 5: The Power of Sin | Bridgeway
< Back The Romans Journey Pt. 5: The Power of Sin Pastor Nate Brosher Mar 12, 2025 Romans 6:1-11 NLT - 1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. 5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. 6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ, we were set free from the power of sin. 8 And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. 9 We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. 10 When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. 11 So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. 1. Eternal Security ■ The doctrine of eternal security – means that true saving faith endures to the end and cannot be forfeited. True salvation should be accompanied by ongoing repentance and a desire to live according to God's will. John 10:27-28 NLT - 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me . Hebrews 10:26 NLT - 26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. Luke 22:31-34 ESV - 31 "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." 33 Peter said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death." 34 Jesus said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me." Choosing to sin without remorse (repentance) could be considered a rejection of God's grace and could lead to consequences like spiritual separation or a lack of closeness with Him. Philippians 1:6 ESV - 6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Romans 8:38-39 ESV - 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. John Wesley defined sin as, "a willful and intentional turning away from God's will and a rejection of His love and grace. Sin is a condition of the human heart that leads us to prioritize our desires and self-interests over the will of God.” “Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?” – Apostle Paul Romans 6:15 NLT - 15 Well then, since God's grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! 2. When continuation of sin is still present Why are we not allowing the word of God to examine our lives? 1John 1:8-10 NLT - 8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. ■ Self-righteousness Self-righteousness is an attitude where someone firmly believes they are morally superior to others, viewing their own beliefs and actions as inherently better. Galatians 6:3 ESV - 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Philippians 3:8-11 ESV - 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. 3. Crucified with Christ Romans 6:4-7 NLT – 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. John 8:34-36 NLT - 34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. 35 A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. ■ How do we embrace this freedom from sin? Luke 9:23-25 NLT - 23 Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 25 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed? Romans 6:12-14 NLT - 12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. 13 Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So, use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. 14 Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace. Previous Next
- Summer Bods Series Pt. 4: If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit | Bridgeway
< Back Summer Bods Series Pt. 4: If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit Pastor Nate Brosher Jun 30, 2024 Romans 12:1-2 ESV 1 I appeal (beseech, beg, implore) to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. 1. Have we Conformed to the World? Verse 2, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Conformed – (syschēmatizō) - to conform one's-self (i.e. one's mind and character) to another's pattern, (fashion one's-self according to) Just because it sounds good or feels good to the flesh, that doesn’t mean it is good for you! Matthew 7:15-20 ESV 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. We must reject doctrine that doesn’t line up with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! 2. What/Who are we imitating? Ephesians 4:25-32 NLT 25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. 26 And "don't sin by letting anger control you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil. 28 If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. 29 Don't use foul or abusive language . Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. 30 And do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live . Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 5:1-2 NLT 1 Imitate God , therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2 Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Resist the devil and he will flee! If our lifestyle doesn’t line up with the word of God, then what I’m wearing doesn’t fit. Previous Next

< Back The Aftermath Pt. 5: Sheltered by God Pastor Nate Brosher May 25, 2025 Act 7:51-60 NLT - 51 "You stubborn people! You are heathen at heart and deaf to the truth. Must you forever resist the Holy Spirit? That's what your ancestors did, and so do you! 52 Name one prophet your ancestors didn't persecute! They even killed the ones who predicted the coming of the Righteous One--the Messiah whom you betrayed and murdered. 53 You deliberately disobeyed God's law, even though you received it from the hands of angels." 54 The Jewish leaders were infuriated by Stephen's accusation, and they shook their fists at him in rage. 55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God's right hand. 56 And he told them, "Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing in the place of honor at God's right hand!" 57 Then they put their hands over their ears and began shouting. They rushed at him 58 and dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. His accusers took off their coats and laid them at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 He fell to his knees, shouting, "Lord, don't charge them with this sin!" And with that, he died. 1. Where are we sheltering ourselves? ■ Shelter – protect or shield from something harmful. - What are we being exposed to? 2Corinthians 6:15-17 NLT - 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God's temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: "I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don't touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. John 15:18-19 NLT - 18 "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. World – Kosmos – an alternative name for the universe or its nature or order. The Strongs Greek Lexicon – the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments riches, advantages, pleasures, which although hollow and frail and fleeting, stir desire, seduce from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ • A culture of greed, selfishness, power and self-centeredness that drives our governments and countries. 2. He is our refuge! Psalm 91:1-4 NKJV - 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, "[He is] my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler [And] from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth [shall be your] shield and buckler. - Refuge – maḥăsê – Hope, shelter, trust. - Fortress – māṣûḏ - Defense, strong place. Psalm 121:5-8 NLT - 5 The LORD himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade. 6 The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. 7 The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. 8 The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Psalm 18:2 NLT - 2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. - Inner Circle Pt. 1: Rejecting His Commands | Bridgeway
< Back Inner Circle Pt. 1: Rejecting His Commands Pastor Nate Brosher Sep 29, 2024 1 Samuel 15:22-24 NLT - 22 But Samuel replied, "What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 23 Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So, because you have rejected the command of the LORD, he has rejected you as king."24 Then Saul admitted to Samuel, "Yes, I have sinned. I have disobeyed your instructions and the LORD's command, for I was afraid of the people and did what they demanded. 1. Who are we surrounding ourselves with? 1 Samuel 14:3 NLT - 3 Among Saul's men was Ahijahthe priest, who was wearing the ephod, the priestly vest. Ahijah was the son of Ichabod's brother Ahitub, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, the priest of the LORD who had served at Shiloh. 1 Samuel 3:13-14 NLT - 13 I have warned him that judgment is coming upon his family forever, because his sons are blaspheming God, and he hasn't disciplined them. 14 So I have vowed that the sins of Eli and his sons will never be forgiven by sacrifices or offerings." “Bad company corrupts good character” 2. Who is influencing you? Matthew 5:14-16 ESV - 14 "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. John 8:43-44 ESV - 43 Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. < Back Family Matters Pt. 1: We Will Serve the Lord Pastor Nate Brosher Nov 2, 2025 Joshua 24:14-16,19-24 NLT - 14 "So fear the LORD and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD alone. 15 But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD." 16 The people replied, "We would never abandon the LORD and serve other gods. 19 Then Joshua warned the people, "You are not able to serve the LORD, for he is a holy and jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. 20 If you abandon the LORD and serve other gods, he will turn against you and destroy you, even though he has been so good to you." 21 But the people answered Joshua, "No, we will serve the LORD!" 22 "You are a witness to your own decision," Joshua said. "You have chosen to serve the LORD." "Yes," they replied, "we are witnesses to what we have said." 23 "All right then," Joshua said, "destroy the idols among you, and turn your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel." 24 The people said to Joshua, "We will serve the LORD our God. We will obey him alone." As for me and my House/Family A. Decisiveness in Faith 1Kings 18:21 NLT - 21 Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, "How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!" But the people were completely silent. ■ How long will we waver, hobbling between two opinions? Romans 12:2 ESV - 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. B. Family/Household Commitment Charles Spurgeon: “My House” means the household under one’s influence: Spouse, children, servants (in the biblical setting) - The sphere of one’s leadership and responsibility. Matthew 6:24 ESV - 24 "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. “A little leaven, leavens the whole lump” 1Corinthians 15:58 NKJV - 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. C. Spiritual Vigilance in the Home Charles Spurgeon: “You cannot impart to your children new hearts, but you can see to it that there shall be nothing within our gates that is derogatory to the religion of Jesus Christ.” James 1:5-8 NLT - 5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. Proverbs 22:6 ESV - 6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. Previous Next

Groups Home Groups Members 5-20 Duration + Frequency 1-2 Hours, Bi-weekly Sign Up Home groups are a unique setting which provide space for deep community to form and for exploration of teaching in a way that is not possible in a Sunday or midweek service. A home group a group of people choosing to push into this idea, intentionally pushing deep into community and teaching together. Practically, this means church members are meeting regularly to share life and grow in faith together. There are a number of activities that are commonplace in home groups: Praying together Studying the Bible Exploring an aspect of the Christian faith Catching up on one another’s news Worship Studying a book about the Bible or Christian faith together Sharing a meal What truly matters is that the group’s activities center around Christ and the discipleship of the group’s members. The key is to grow in our love for God and for one another. Home groups are led by individuals who have a teaching and/or pastoral gifting. All leaders are vetted and equipped by elders of the church as they must be of godly character (Titus 2:7-8) and able to rightfully divide the word of God (2 Tim. 2:15). While there is no set structure groups must follow, one can typically expect: Greetings and chit chat, perhaps with snacks or a meal Prayer Worship Sharing of prophetic words with the group (always to be tested; see 1 Cor. 14:29) Lesson and discussion on Bible passages and themes Ready to sign up? < Back Heroes of the Faith Pt. 4: Turning Point Pastor Nate Brosher Aug 24, 2025 Exodus 13:17-19, 21-22 NLT – 17 When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, "If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." 18 So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Thus, the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle. 19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear to do this. He said, "God will certainly come to help you. When he does, you must take my bones with you from this place." ... 21 The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night. 22 And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people. 1. God knows ALL things God is all-knowing – Omniscience Psalm 139:1 NLT - 1 O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. Exodus 14:10-12 NLT - 10 As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the LORD, 11 and they said to Moses, "Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren't there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt? 12 Didn't we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, 'Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It's better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!'" 2. What is coming out of your mouth? Proverbs 18:21 ESV - 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. The Power of the Tongue Positive Impact Negative Impact Exodus 14:13-16 NLT - 13 But Moses told the people, "Don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. 14 The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm." 15 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16 Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground. 3. Faith is an Action! “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!” Exodus 14:21-28 NLT - 21 Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. 22 So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side! 23 Then the Egyptians--all of Pharaoh's horses, chariots, and charioteers--chased them into the middle of the sea. 24 But just before dawn the LORD looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud, and he threw their forces into total confusion. 25 He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive. "Let's get out of here--away from these Israelites!" the Egyptians shouted. "The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!" 26 When all the Israelites had reached the other side, the LORD said to Moses, "Raise your hand over the sea again. Then the waters will rush back and cover the Egyptians and their chariots and charioteers." 27 So as the sun began to rise, Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the water rushed back into its usual place. The Egyptians tried to escape, but the LORD swept them into the sea. 28 Then the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers--the entire army of Pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived. Not a single one survived! Previous Next

- Journey Through James Pt. 5: Wrestling with the World | Bridgeway
< Back Journey Through James Pt. 5: Wrestling with the World Pastor Nate Brosher Apr 3, 2024 James 4:1-10 ESV 1 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? 2 You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. 4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us"? 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. 1. The Origin What are our passions that we are conflicted with? Pride of life, lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh. 2. Adulterous People Adultery is a form of extramarital sexual intercourse between a married person and a person who is not a party to the marriage. Matthew 6:22-24 CSB "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness! 24 "No one can serve two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. 1 John 2:16 CSB 16 For everything in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one's possessions — is not from the Father but is from the world. 3. He is a Jealous God. Matthew 6:33-34 CSB 33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. 34 "Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Previous Next

< Back Letters from Paul Pt. 15: Clothe Yourself Pastor Nate Brosher Jan 23, 2025 Colossians 3:12 NLT - 12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 1. Fidelity - faithfulness to a person, cause, or belief, demonstrated by continuing loyalty and support. ■ Humility – a deep sense of one’s littleness, modesty, lowliness of mind. ■ Patience – endurance, perseverance, longsuffering, slowness in avenging wrongs. For as members of one body, you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. 3. Love that binds us together. Love – (Agape) – affection, good will, brotherly love. ■ Are you wearing the right outfit? 1John 4:20-21 NLT - 20 If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? 21 And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian brothers and sisters. - What is ruling your heart? John 14:16-17, 27 NLT - 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him . But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. ... 27 "I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. Colossians 3:16-17 NLT - 16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. 4. Let it fill our lives. - Are you satisfied with Jesus? Philippians 4:10-13 NLT - 10 How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn't have the chance to help me. 11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. 13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. - Love Matters: Unfailing Love | Bridgeway
< Back Love Matters: Unfailing Love Pastor Nate Brosher Feb 11, 2024 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 NKJV 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love suffers long [and] is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1. The Church should be showing love. We have lost focus on why he chose to come down from heaven to earth and be the sacrificial lamb for the sins of this world. John 3:16 NLT 16 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:19-21 NLT 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. 21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants." What does he want from us? 2. Authentic Love Matthew 18:12-14 NLT 12 "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? 13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn't wander away! 14 In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father's will that even one of these little ones should perish. Jesus says, “it is not my heavenly Father's will that even one of these little ones should perish.” Luke 14:12-14, 17-23 ESV 12 He said also to the man who had invited him, "When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just." ... 17 And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, 'Come, for everything is now ready.' 18 But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.' 19 And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.' 20 And another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' 21 So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, 'Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.' 22 And the servant said, 'Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.' 23 And the master said to the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.
